C-Suite Check-In
Research by Ellen Grasso 11.14.07, 6:00 PM ET
We asked 50 C-level executives to list their favorite hotels for business travel around the world. Not surprisingly, the responses weighed heavily in favor of the big-name, tip-top-in-service hotels, although there were some distinct favorites within the haute-brand chains. For many, the best of all worlds was a property with the intimacy of a boutique hotel but with all the bells and whistles of a larger one.
What we sort of expected: The favorite amenities checklist included high-quality bedding, personalized service, spa services and good security.
What we didn't: Just as important as high thread-count sheets were 24/7 fitness centers and gyms. Workaholics are big on room service (when no business lunches or dinners are planned) and prefer plenty of low-fat, low-carb options. And while becoming a C-suiter generally guarantees a perky expense account, a number of survey respondents said they were happy to supplement their company's per diem to upgrade rooms.
Here, a worldwide view, arranged alphabetically, of C-suite selects, plus comments from C-level execs
