New York, NY (January 16, 2013) – Caravan Stylist Studio, an innovative wardrobe and beauty concept that pairs actresses, tastemakers and media influencers with top fashion designers and beauty experts, will soon welcome guests to an elegant new home located within the historic Carlton hotel.

Formerly housed in a loft space in the Fashion District, Caravan Stylist Studio will now operate out of a luxurious suite at the Carlton hotel, which has been thoughtfully designed and outfitted to serve as both a studio and special event space.

“This exquisite space will provide an ideal setting for our celebrity guests, designers and beauty experts,” said Claudine DeSola, the creator of the studio who also oversees all styling. “With a rich history, the Carlton hotel provides a level of exclusivity in keeping with our visitors’ high expectations. We look forward to making the Carlton hotel our new home.”

Designed by Samuelle Greene, who has created studio spaces for Caravan since 2005, the new studio at the Carlton hotel features a beauty station, several rolling racks, shelving units and a small lounge space, where publicists, assistants and others can relax in comfort and style.

“We are proud to partner with Caravan Stylist Studio to launch their pop up at the Carlton hotel,” states General Manager, Victor Freeman. “We admire how Caravan creatively brings together designers and stylists with celebrities, models and bloggers and look forward to the imaginative opportunities Claudine DeSola and her team will bring to the property.”

Each week, Ms. DeSola partners with more than two-dozen designers to select clothing and accessories for Caravan’s esteemed guests. In addition, a full-time beauty expert provides clients with a host of other complimentary services, including hair styling, makeup application, mini skincare-spa treatments and nail design. Last year, Caravan welcomed more than 2,000 visitors, many of whom were preparing for red carpet premieres, television appearances and concerts. The studio also regularly hosts press events.

Located in Midtown Manhattan, within walking distance of the Fashion District, the Carlton, an Autograph hotel, blends old-world luxury and Beaux-Arts flourishes with stylish modernism. Opened in 1904 as The Seville Hotel, the property, designed by iconic Beaux Arts architect Harry Allen Jacobs, has served as the epicenter of New York City society for more than a century. The Carlton hotel boasts one of the city’s most exquisite lobbies and new specialty suites and special event spaces that pay tribute to New York City’s storied past.

A proud supporter of New York’s fashion industry, the Carlton hotel is hosting two events during Spring Fashion Week 2013. On February 7, two prolific New York designers, Dana Maxx and Ben Amun, will host a fashion show at the Carlton’s New Yorker penthouse suite. The second event – a fashion presentation showcasing four New York designers and featuring other prominent personalities – will be displayed in the Carlton hotel lobby on February 12.

The idea of Caravan Stylist Studio started when Claudine DeSola realized how the talents’ relationship with designers could be more meaningful.  She wanted to create a place where proper introductions to new designers and products could happen. A perfect example of kismet is when an actress wears a dress to an event, falls in love with that designer’s clothing and then attends their fashion show.  It is a way that love of fashion can be full circle.

Having undergone a multi-million dollar renovation by world renowned architect David Rockwell of The Rockwell Group, The Carlton Hotel blends old world luxury and Beaux-Arts flourishes, with stylish modernism. The Carlton hotel features one of the city’s most beautiful hotel lobbies. The vaulted ceilings, marbled floors, floor-to-ceiling suede paneled walls; soothing waterfall and rich mahogany frame the lobby. Originally designed by Harry Allen Jacobs, and completed in 1904 as The Seville Hotel, The Carlton serves as a historic reminder of New York’s elegant past.  An inspired fusion of old-world elegance with distinct contemporary energy and glamour, the century-old Carlton’s blend of historic and modern design perfectly captures the city’s spirit. The Carlton is the second New York City hotel to join the Autograph Collection, a growing ensemble of hotels selected for their distinctive style and ability to provide exclusive experiences to guests. Millesime, deriving from the French word for vintage, is the new restaurant in the Carlton Hotel. An organic collaboration not just by namesake, Millesime is built within the historically landmarked details known in the space, including the exquisite 1904 Tiffany-style glass dome skylight and the extraordinary mosaic floor. Millesime, accessible from the Carlton Hotel’s lobby, exists on two floors and offers a menu which draws its inspiration from the classic seafood dishes found throughout France complimented by a variety of specialty cocktails.
